Clinical Trial Studies of Antipsychotics during Symptomatic Presentations of Agitation and/or Psychosis in Alzheimer’s Dementia: A Systematic Review

PRISMA steps used refine data. RCTs compared active ingredient medications one another or placebo. Results: was assess all selected trials comprehensively. Four being conducted on quetiapine, two haloperidol, olanzapine, three risperidone, brexpiprazole, pimavanserin, aripiprazole. Compared typical antipsychotics, quetiapine showed tolerable adverse effects did not worsen parkinsonism. Psychosis symptoms behavioral improvements can improved haloperidol. Among elderly patients psychosis, risperidone reduces angriness, paranoia, aggression, well improves global functioning. As other aripiprazole provides lower risk demonstrated improvement agitation, anxiety, depression associated psychosis.
